Humankind, in its present state, has been around for a quarter of a million years, and only the last 4,000 have been of any significance.
So, what did we do all that time? We huddled in caves, fearful of the things that we didn't understand and that threatened our existence. It was more than explaining why the sun came up, it was the mystery of trees that breathed fire and shadows that had an appetite for human flesh. So we called them 'gods' and 'demons', begged them to spare us.
In time, their numbers fell and ours rose. The world began to make more sense when there were fewer things to fear. However, the unexplained can never truly go away as if the universe demands the absurd and impossible.
We must not go back to hiding in fear. No one else will protect us, so we must stand up for ourselves.
While the rest of humankind dwells in the light. We must stand in the shadows of the abyss to fight it, contain it, and shield it from the eyes of the public, so that others may live in a sane and normal world.
The TRAP Organization was first founded in 1825 with the introduction of TRAP-001.
Timeline
1825 - The introduction of TRAP-001 led the first Higher-Ups to start the organization in a basement. Eventually, more people were inducted and the TRAP Organization was born.
1957 - Reports of a blue, female killer, flood the headlines of Australia. This news slowly leaks it's way out of the country and made international news. This killer wiped out 85% of Australia's human population. The Council and the Higher-Ups were forced to use a time altering anomaly to restore the world and prevent the would-be escape of TRAP-029.
2020 - A non anomoluse viruse known to all as COVID-19 has made its way all around the world.
2021 - Through out the year, many things have gone wrong. The non anomalous virus known COVID-19 took the world by surprise. This also made the numbers of the TRAP Organization suffer greatly. And just as many thought the year couldn't get worse, it did… At least for us, anyway.
On the day that he got into the office, U.S. President Joe Biden withdrew from the Anomalous Nations Project (ANP) With this bold move, we will no longer be providing service to the U.S. when it comes to anomalous problems. This does not mean that all previously captured anomalies are going to be released. Rather, if a new anomaly makes itself known, we can do nothing about it.
2022 - An unforeseen attack happened on Site 7, Site 8, and Site 9. This attack resulted in the deaths of 2,700 TRAP staff and the destruction of many anomalous objects. The cause is thought to be a woman in a yellow dress with unknown, strange glowing runes tattooed on her right arm. The woman posses a strange power that appears to have a purple hue to it. She is being looked for on the orders of the Higher-Ups and the Council. If she is spotted, she is to be caught and brought in for questioning.
2023 - A temporal rift has opened up and been spotted by Site 2. The portal has not seen any use by whoever activated it. Security personnel and a few of TRAP's more renown scientists have been posted on the rift's perimeter. Guards have been ordered to shoot anything hostile that makes its way through the portal.
